SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
There's more to Horizons than our printed programme of events!
Our Special Interest Groups cover events which aren't always shown in our two-monthly programme, as they meet regularly and/or or at short notice. You can find details of who to contact in the programme, and prospective members are welcome to come along to most of these events. They currently include:
Our book group meets monthly - normally on the second Monday. Meetings are usually shown in the programme, together with details of the book to be discussed.
Chatty, friendly bridge is played weekly on Wednesday evenings.
Members compare notes to find jazz concerts.
We play twice a month on Tuesdays, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. We play by the Max Robertson rules, which is a very enjoyable and competitive westernised version of the game. From time to time we arrange taster sessions for Horizons members.
We play mainly during the evening, but occasionally in the datime as well.
The group holds regular coffee evenings to decide on future visits including Theatre, Opera, Concerts and much more.
These events held on weekdays during the daytime, usually spontaneously or at short notice. Details are circulated when the ideas are put forward.
Details of events which are arranged too late for inclusion in the programme are emailed to members.
